	A BRIEF HISTORY The de Havilland Canada DHC-7, popularly known as the Dash 7, is a turboprop-powered regional airliner with STOL capabilities. It first flew in 1975 and remained in production until 1988 when the parent company, de Havilland Canada, was purchased by Boeing and was later sold to Bombardier. 		A BRIEF HISTORY The McDonnell Douglas DC-10 is a three-engine widebody airliner, with two engines mounted on underwing pylons and a third engine at the base of the vertical stabilizer. The DC-10 has range for medium to long haul flights. The model was a successor to the company's DC-8 for long-range operations, and competed in the same markets as the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar, which has a similar layout to the DC-10.
